The scales came out of Bettina Halloran’s bathroom in week one, which she describes as the most frightening thing anyone had asked her to do in a decade.

There was a plateau from about week twenty. Nothing was going wrong; the body had simply arrived somewhere and wanted to stay there for a while.

Medication was reviewed twice, and on both occasions the change was a reduction. That is not the usual direction of travel and nobody in the room pretended otherwise.

A daily weight is mostly noise. People make real decisions on noise, and the decisions are usually bad ones.
